Rosa&Dmitri is the first album by Duoende (Giulia Grassi, piano and voice; Francesco Berrafato, diatonic accordion and voice). It has been recorded at University of Agder, Kristiansand (Norway) and published by RadiciMusic Records in 2019.
The title Rosa&Dmitri refers to folk songwriter Rosa Balistreri and classical composer Dmitri Shostakovich. In the album’s opening piece Cu ti lu dissi Balistreri and Shostakovich meet and dance together representing the two souls of the project: classical and folk music. In this work you will find original compositions as well as arrangements of classical and folk pieces.
Claudia Bombardella, clarinet and voice, is the guest artist of the album.
